Hi everyone, my name is Melina - Eng’s youngest daughter.

On October 12th, 2025, his last words to me will forever live in my heart:

“Have fun, I love you, and I’ll see you when you get home.”

Those would be the last words I’d ever hear from him.

I took the next flight home the following day, but halfway through my travels, Dad’s heart stopped. By the time I landed, he was gone. I didn’t get the chance to say my final goodbye.

My dad absolutely loved his grandchildren, fishing, and a good bowl of mashed potatoes with a side of steak. He had a big heart, a quick smile, and a quiet strength that made everyone around him feel cared for.

Though not my biological father, he chose to love me as his own and that love shaped my life in ways I’ll forever be grateful for.
