endstage kidney failure med fund
Donation protected

My name is Diane Houle-Dunn. I have created this page to assist my son and his family with the over whelming amount of medicle bills that that they have and are about to occur.
For those of you who dont know my son Carey Averill was diganosed with end stage renal disease ( kidney failure) On january 8 2017 Carey thought that he had a cold as he had symptoms for a month and decided to go get some antibiotics. After arriving to memorial hospital in north conway they determined that he was flu negative and his problems were much bigger... Careys blood work came back showing that his kidneys were failing quick and that he needed to be rushed to maine medical center. Carey spent 10 days there and recieved a catheter in his chest in order for them to perform dialysis everday while he stayed in the hospital. Careys return home leaves him going to dialysis every other day 4 hours at a time. This treatment wears him out and makes him very weak. He will have to do this for a long time. This has beeen very hard on the family. His ultimate goal is to eventually get a kidney transplant which will not be cheap. We are hoping to find a donor for him! That also will be a process in itself. This poor family has already been through so much, his fiancee has suffered as well. In 2011 she was airlifted to maine medical with a life threating injury to her adrenal glands .. they had burst due to tumors growing on them leaving her in icu for over 2 weeks until she was stable enough to have surgery. She now is on medication for the rest of her life and stuck with a large bill that they are making payments on. Then in 2015 they found out that they were PREGNANT!!! YAY a baby.. Something Carrie had wanted for so long, but the excitment disappeared and fear struck through them both when an ultra sound discovered that there was a large fibroid growing next to her uterus. She was told that this was going to be a very high risk pregnancy and was going to have special ultrasounds and meet with high risk specialists.. All seemed to be going well they found out they were having a GIRL!! They named her Soraya then one week later everything changed. Carrie began to feel cramps and sharp pains and less then a week later she was in the hospital and had to deliver a baby she couldnt keep. They were beyond devastated. The following month she would have to have surgery to remove the fibroid that took the life of her baby. The fibroid was the size of a melon.
Carey and Carrie in late november of 2015 found out they were expecting again..This time it was really hard for them to be excited as this to would be a high risk pregnancy because of everything that Carries body has been through. On July 26 2016 arrived a beautiful 6 pound 9 ounce baby girl named Brielle Elizabeth Averill. The joy of both of their lives. Things were looking up or so they thought just to be knocked down again five and a half months later with Carey being diganosed with kidney failure.
Carrie and Carey are trying to do the best that they can financially with carries income and a baby but will need some assistance. Carrie and Careys families all appreciate whatever you can donate to help this young couple who have suffered terrible medical situations and through this traumatic time. Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts!
