Hello everyone. My name is Sonia and I am in desperate need of a life-changing operation. Unfortunately I have been refused funding from the BMI charity and from the NHS due to no funding. Due to my illnesses, I am not currently able to work so I can not afford private health care, neither do they find pre-existing problems which doesn't help at all. By the day I am losing weight because I can not eat properly, not a day goes by that I am not in pain. I can't sleep properly due to my symptoms, no acid-reflux medication works. I have been offered the Nissen fundoplication surgery but I have been advised by my consultant that it will make my IBS worse and alot more painful and will not help my swallowing. I already suffer from IBS because I have EDS. I don't think it is fair that such a life-changing operation is not available for those who need it so much. I can't drink any liquids without it coming back into my throat and mouth, I can't drink anything too fast otherwise I will throw up. My Oesophagus is severely weak and it makes my life a misery.  The Endostim operation will help my swallowing and stop my acid reflux, they would also fix my hiatus hernia.
