Endometriosis Surgery
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Jenelle, and I’m a fighter. I’ve been battling chronic illnesses called Endometriosis and Adenomyosis for my adult life. I was first diagnosed with Stage 4 DIE (Deep Infiltrating Endo) Rectovaginal Endometriosis in 2016. Isn’t DIE a great acronym? Endo is a multi-systemic disease that can debilitate and torture its victims so that they may want to die. It’s a disease that affects 1 in 10 women, (& in rare cases, men) but can take 8-10 years to diagnose.
Endometriosis has *kindly* scarred my organs together. Not only has it damaged physical health, it has also decimated my vivacity. Where once I was a writer, musician, entrepreneur, mother and wife, I became a shell of my former self, bedridden and sapped.
Endometriosis currently has no cure. It can be fought with various things like great nutrition, movement, medication, etc. And in my case, sometimes the only thing to do is cut the disease out.
I will be using funds to free my organs and my life by wide excision surgery, and also for IVF. We have a wonderful daughter, and we would love to give her a sibling, which may not be possible without IVF. Wide excision surgery and IVF are completely out of network and out of pocket—isn’t it interesting how the things that can save your life often are?
Thank you so much for reading part of my story, and for changing my life with your gift.
