Help Develop an Endometriosis Test

Endometriosis impacts the quality of life of someone you know
Endometriosis is one of the most common reproductive disorders and affects one in ten women between the ages of 15-49.  Endometriosis is the abnormal growth, outside the uterus, of tissue similar to the uterine lining. It's characterized by debilitating menstrual pain, discomfort during intercourse, abnormal vaginal bleeding, chronic pelvic pain and infertility. 25-40% of infertility cases are believed to be the result of endometriosis.

Currently, this chronic disorder isn't easy to diagnose
Unfortunately, endometriosis remains misdiagnosed, misunderstood and ineffectively treated.  Reports suggest typical delays of 7-12 years for the diagnosis of endometriosis related fertility issues. There are no blood tests. The only definitive test involves laparoscopic surgery, and that's why endometriosis can take years to diagnose.

My name is Vinay Singh. I am a Canadian scientist and entrepreneur. I have over a decade of experience conducting research and development in cancer and women's health, with a background in biotechnology and bioinformatics, social entrepreneurship and governance of not-for-profits.

Recently, I identified a biomarker -- a molecule in the body -- which can be used to confirm the presence of endometriosis.

My company, SYNG Pharma, was created when I realized that this biomarker can be used to develop the first non-invasive diagnostic for endometriosis -- an easy blood test -- and a possible therapy.
With patents already obtained, I have successful proof-of-concept results by testing blood from women who have surgically confirmed diagnoses of endometriosis. With the help of a gynecologist’s personal investment, I've already produced a proprietary antibody which can detect this biomarker. Now, to validate this antibody in a larger human cohort, I need the resources to collaborate with an established research organization to complete this work.

Many traditional investors have not chosen to invest in chronic women's health problems
I have spent years on research, patented the technology, raised starting capital, acquired partners, been invited to present to researchers and investors at conferences, and been chosen by Johnson & Johnson Innovation to receive laboratory space in JLABS Toronto as an emerging company. This is the real, but slow, process to develop a new medical tool as a startup. Now, I’m reaching out to a wider audience for support. It’s not easy to raise funds for a company working on women’s health and in the very early stages of developing a new tool.

So, this is why I need your help
To attract firm commitments from potential investment funds, I need to fund the next level of validation experiments to prove the accuracy of my biomarker. If the experiments with a larger human sample are successful, this tool will have a chance to become reality and help millions of women.

Please donate
With this donation, you won’t be getting a T-shirt, bumper sticker, or anything like that. Instead, you will be directly supporting endometriosis research and spreading hope to the millions whose lives this diagnostic could change. This campaign and all donors will be collectively acknowledged in every one of my presentations or publications.

Donations of any size are welcome to show industry and future investors that this work is relevant to many women and their families.

Even if you can’t donate, please share this on social media because you never know when a friend may have someone close to them who is suffering with endometriosis and who may want to help out in big way. Even if we don't raise money every time somebody reads this, we will be spreading awareness about endometriosis and helping women who are unknowingly afflicted.

I encourage you to visit our web site www.syngpharma.com and read about SYNG Pharma in the news.

Thanks so much for your time and your donations. Together we can make a better future for women with endometriosis.
