End of Life Care for Baby Ellie Mae Ritchey

As many of you are aware, our beloved (Elouise) Ellie Mae Ritchey has been courageously battling for her life in the PICU. After exhaustive efforts, her doctors have now reached a devastating diagnosis. Ellie has been diagnosed with TBCD, a rare genetic disorder affecting only 51 children worldwide, Ellie is number 51. This disorder severely impacts the brain, spinal cord, and other parts of the body causing hypotonia (severe muscle weakness), seizures, difficulty swallowing, vision problems, difficulty breathing and much more.

Tragically, Ellie's condition has progressed rapidly, and doctors anticipate that her time with us is very limited. Ellie will be returning home soon on oxygen and monitors to be with her family to live as comfortably as she can. Her parents, Kenzie and James, along with her siblings Landon and Naomi, are heartbroken as they face this unimaginable situation.

In addition to coping emotionally, the family is also grappling with overwhelming medical expenses and are now faced with the planning of funeral and burial costs. They are determined to provide Ellie with the comfort she needs in her remaining life but need assistance to meet these high equipment costs that are not covered by insurance.
