Molly’s Endometriosis Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Good people - This is Cynthia and Dan McCabe, the loving parents of Molly McCabe, an amazing 30 year old who has been struggling for years with chronic pain due to the progression of Endometriosis. Our goal for this GoFundMe is to raise enough money to help cover costs related to full endometriosis excision surgery and the related costs incured.
Molly is a musician, piano tuner, caregiver and lover of gardening and nature. She has been struggling with chronic pain, severe LBS (Leaky bowel syndrome) and IBS (irritable bladder syndrome) and increasingly so for 15 years now. She was finally and officially diagnosed with Endometriosis 5 years ago. After following doctors protocol with Oblation surgery to reduce her lesions and for diagnosis, her symptoms have only progressed and the lesions not properly removed. There is rarely a day when Molly is not in pain, and on the days when her period is happening, the pain is so debilitating that she loses 3-4 days of living and work and is stuck in bed. Due to chronic pain, being self employed has been her only option, and has given her the flexibility to cancel work when the pain is debilitating. This makes making a living very challenging.

If you are not familiar with Endometriosis and how it affects 1 out of every 8 women, here is a good site to visit: http://nancysnookendo.com/ . Many women including Molly have been misdiagnosed and mistreated by many doctors and have faced much frustration due to the lack of support in the medical industry.
Molly is currently working with a Specialist doctor at Cedar Sinai in Los Angeles, who performs Full Excision Laparoscopic Surgery, the gold standard treatment for Endometriosis. This doctor has also recommended extensive pelvic floor Physical Therapy with a specialist for this condition, also in the Los Angeles area. Los Angeles is a 4 hour drive and often requires an overnight stay. Gas, lodging and travel are additional expenses that Molly will incur. Molly’s excision surgery is scheduled for August 3rd, 2022 and she is already being treated by a Physical Therapist and Gastroenterologist in Los Angeles in preparation.
It is estimated that the total costs for surgery, PT, medications, lodging, travel, extensive follow-up care, etc.. will be approximately $25,000. The estimated recovery time for this surgery is 5 months to 1 year with the hopes of being able to start working a couple months after surgery. Since Molly cannot always work due to her chronic pain condition and now frequent doctor visits, she will need help raising the money to cover her costs.
