I'm a veteran teacher with End Stage Renal Disease who is now unable to work because of my condition.  Due to the increased danger of the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in Texas, I am therefore leaving the classroom to concentrate on my health.  Unfortunately, my medical bills are substantial.  I've had 5 surgeries in the last couple of months and am now scheduled for a 6th procedure to correct issues with my dialysis catheter.  Although most of the proceeds from this Gofundme page will be used to help cover current and future medical expenses, understanding that we are all part of the human family, I plan on giving a portion of the proceeds donated to the American Kidney Fund, an organization that helps fund research into finding a cure for kidney issues.
