Help Rocco Walk Without Pain – He Needs Leg Amputation
Hi, my name is Ali, and I’m reaching out on behalf of a very special dog named Rocco, who has endured unimaginable pain and neglect — and now finally has a chance at a new life. But he needs your help.
Rocco was rescued from San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS) after 88 agonizing days in their shelter with a fractured leg. Despite his obvious injury, he received no treatment, and little pain medication, and no care. For nearly three months, he was forced to suffer in silence.
And then, instead of getting him help, ACS put him on the euthanasia list.
Thankfully, a small, newly-formed rescue stepped in just in time to save him. But because they are so new and independently run by a working mother, they simply don’t have the funds to cover the urgent surgery Rocco now needs: a full leg amputation.
We found a compassionate veterinary surgical center in Austin who has offered a discounted price of $1,600–$1,800 for the procedure. I’m starting this fundraiser to get Rocco the surgery he should’ve had long ago — and finally end his pain for good.
Why This Matters
Rocco’s story isn’t just about one dog — it reflects a larger, deeply troubling pattern of neglect and mismanagement at San Antonio ACS. But today, we focus on getting Rocco the help he deserves.
Any funds raised beyond the cost of his surgery will go directly to the rescue that saved him, so they can continue helping dogs like Rocco escape death row and get a second chance at life.
How You Can Help
Donate – Every dollar gets us closer to Rocco’s freedom from pain.
Share – Spreading the word is powerful. Share this with friends, family, and fellow animal lovers.
Advocate – Speak out for the voiceless. Rocco may not have been able to ask for help, but we can.
Rocco is sweet, resilient, and full of life — and with your help, he can live pain-free and finally experience the love he’s always deserved.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. Let’s give Rocco the future he’s been waiting for.
With gratitude,
Ali
