David and Charlotte Putnam are the owners of Alamo City Gold & Silver Exchange, a full service jewelry store in San Antonio, Texas. David is a retired San Antonio Police Detective. For over 30 years, he has created and donated approximately 3500 sterling silver badge pendants to families of fallen first responders. The badge pendant is a replica of the fallen first responder’s badge with his/her name, rank, badge number and end of watch date or last bell date. The donated sterling silver badge pendant with chain is sent to the department to be presented to the family.
See Texas Country Reporter’s interview with David Putnam about his passion for making memorial badge pendants.
Throughout the years, he has made it his mission to ensure each fallen hero’s family receives a badge pendant. Due to the large amount of first responders succumbing to Covid 19, David is finding it financially difficult to continue making and donating the badge pendant to the family. We are asking for sponsors to help offset the cost. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Together we can help David give to the family a memory of their loved one to wear close to their heart.
