End of Life Expenses for Jeff Scoville
Donation protected
My father, Jeff Scoville, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2020. Upon his passing, he left no will, no life insurance, and no monetary resources. I am an unemployed graduate student and do not have the funds to lay him to rest or handle the legalities of his financial and personal affairs. I have reached out to several agencies for assistance but have not had any luck. He was not a veteran and had no other memberships or affiliations to provide any assistance.
I am creating this fundraiser hoping to be able to have him cremated and be able to pay a lawyer to legally go through probate to handle all of his personal and financial affairs. The only real thing of value that he has is his manufactured home on a rented lot in a manufactured home park. My name is also on the title however I am not listed as "right of survivorship" so without a will, I will have to go through probate in order to have his name removed from the title. He also owed months back lot rent on the home, which I am not able to afford at this time. He does have a little money in his bank account, but not much. Without a will, I am not able to access that without going through probate. My goal is to be able to cremate him, and retain a lawyer to legally handle the entire probate process and hopefully pay the back lot rent on the home so that I can move into it, otherwise the manufactured home park will take ownership of the home due to back rent being owed.
I am Jeff's only child and wish that circumstances were different. I hesitated in creating this as I am not one to ask for help, but at this point, this is my only option. If you would like to donate towards my goals an helping me with my dad's final affairs, I would greatly appreciate any donation amount. If you are not able to donate, I completely understand and would appreciate it if you could share my campaign with others who may be wish to donate.
I have included some photos of Jeff's life, friends, and family as well as a little of his life story.
Jeff had his ups and downs throughout his life, as we all have. He was diagnosed as type 1 diabetic early in his life and suffered many medical problems and hospital stays throughout relating to this. He always seemed to bounce back after some time. He was generally a happy go lucky person and liked to make others laugh. He had many friends from Othello, Washington and made many more in his life journey. If anyone would like share memories of Jeff, please feel free to comment, I would like to read them.
Thank you all again for taking the time to read my story. I appreciate all of you.
