To anyone who's ever met Charla, they were greeted with a warm, loving, and eccentric woman who was always willing to provide anyone within arm's reach a hug, a laugh, a full stomach and an earful of some of the craziest stories one could even imagine. She lived loudly with gaudy patterned clothing, rings overtaking half the size of her fingers, brightly colored nails (which she would always happily use to scratch your back or scalp with), her signature bald head, and a plethora of tattoos. Her brilliance was showcased in her ability to beat anyone in Scrabble, Trivia, or Wheel of Fortune, and her aggression towards anyone daring to use lazy vocabulary or grammar within listening distance - but please, don't ever ask her to do math for you. She was always on the move, bouncing around from state-to-state to appease her wanderlust and innate need for constant change, and when she couldn't do so, she'd rearrange the furniture in the house at the strangest hours just to feel like she was somewhere new, and usually with the strangest mix of music accompanying her efforts. She never met a stranger, easily making friends within the first ten seconds of setting foot on unfamiliar soil, and maintained those friendships despite distance and constant Facebook profile changes - because she could remember what you wore at Brother's that night in 1992 when you met her at the bar, but remembering passwords is off the table. She was a whirlwind of a woman, and all of us are profoundly lucky to have been able to witness her endeavors, let alone be a part of her story.

Sadly, Charla's story came to a close on April 24th, 2023 after battling a brain aneurysm, leaving behind three children, two siblings, and innumerable friends and loved ones to grieve her passing and care for her passage into her next incredible adventure into the afterlife. The total cost of laying her to rest will be around $1600, with half down to proceed with the cremation process. Included in this fundraiser is also a little wiggle room for the "cut" taken from GoFundMe upon retrieval of the funds. Every little bit helps, and ensures that her loved ones can carry out her last wishes. Thank you.
