End of Life Care for Robin Mitchell

Hello, my name is Regan Coy, and I am raising funds on behalf of my mom, Robin Mitchell. Please share her story

On August 30, 2022, my mom experienced an unexpected seizure in the parking lot of the Indianapolis airport while on her way to visit me. Her wife, Melissa Mitchell, was with her at the time, and because of where it happened, paramedics were able to act quickly and transport her to the hospital. A brain scan revealed a tumor, and she was soon diagnosed with glioblastoma—an aggressive, stage-4 brain cancer.

By what we can only describe as a miracle, the tumor was located in an operable area of her brain. Within days, she underwent surgery, and the surgeon was able to remove 99.9% of the tumor. Despite the success of the surgery, we were told that glioblastoma is incurable, and my mom was given a prognosis of 6 to 18 months to live following the surgery.

In true mom fashion, she defied every expectation. For nearly three years, she lived with no new tumor growth—three years we were never promised and will forever be grateful for.

In October 2025, her health took a sudden turn. A grape-sized tumor began growing on her brainstem, a location that has gradually affected her mobility and speech. Since then, the cancer has progressed, and there are now multiple tumors growing on her brain. We have recently been given the heartbreaking news that she has approximately 4 to 6 weeks left.

Our focus now is on comfort, dignity, and peace during her end-of-life care.

We are raising funds to help cover:

  • A comfortable nursing or hospice care facility

  • Medical bills accrued over the course of her illness

  • Adaptive equipment rentals and home medical needs

  • Other end-of-life care expenses to ensure she is as comfortable as possible

Any contribution, whether financial support, sharing this page, or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers, means more than we can express. I will continue to post updates as we navigate this time together.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, support, and kindness. As mom would say "I wish you nothing but good vibes".

With gratitude,
Her loving family
