Jay Michael Riddell
Jay is 58 years old and has been living in congested heart failure for the last 5 years.
Despite that, up until this last heart attack he was still working his small heating and cooling business to support his family.
On May 2nd Jay was rushed to the Loris hospital with breathing problems and pain. 3 of his arteries are blocked with the last one having a stint that has now failed. A few days later the doctor delivered the news we have been dreading. Jay is now in end-of-life hospice care, at home where he wanted to be. Our mom who has her own health complications is his main caregiver.
Jay has worked his whole life. Soon it will be time for him to rest. Our mother, understandably devastated and unable to financially support herself at this time, needs some help.
We are asking for donations to help pay for Jay's end-of-life care, subsequent medical bills and afterlife cremation and memorial ceremony. As well as help with the financial burden with the loss of stability our mother is now facing. She is currently on disability herself, and unable to work.
She lives with fibromyalgia and has had 8 surgeries within the last 2 years. The main ones are a spinal shunt and both knees replaced. So the fact that she is caring for her husband in the way that she is and has been is a triumph of its own.
