End of Life Care and Support for Vitaly Berkovich
Family, friends, and kind-hearted strangers, my father, a person who has always been there for me who has been nothing but a great man a great father and a great husband, now needs help to keep him in a facility where he can be cared for through this last chapter of life.
For those that may not know, roughly 4 years ago, my father was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. He has been through scores of trials and experimental treatments, had two major brain surgeries, and though he outlived the projected survival rate of glioblastoma, he is now without any treatments to try or surgeries to have.
Over the last 15 months the tumor has gradually invaded his brain and the symptoms have been getting extremely more severe. Whereas in the past he had headaches and was prone to seizures, he is now paralyzed on his right side, and unable to communicate, he needs assistance with even the simplest tasks, tasks that me and my family can no longer do for him at home.
Three weeks ago he was placed in a beautiful facility full of resources for his care, unfortunately to keep my father there the cost to us is $400 a day. I placed the goal at $24,000 to get us to 60 days. If there are any funds remaining it will be used towards funeral expenses.
My family and I truly thank you for anything you may be able to provide.
