End of Life Care & Memorial Costs for Susan Hope

Our mother, Susan (Thurber) Hope, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. This fundraiser is to help with medical and memorial expenses. She is fighting for her life, but even with treatment, this is an end of life diagnosis. Just a couple of weeks before our mom’s diagnosis, she was working and living a normal life, but soon began having headaches and eventually lost the ability to walk. She will begin treatment soon, but even with radiation and chemo, our time is limited. This diagnosis is sudden and devastating and our family is very overwhelmed. Our mom does not have a life insurance policy and most of the fundraising will be put toward cremation/memorial costs.

Susan is a mother to three daughters and one granddaughter who adore her.  She is a shining light and is always smiling, even in these tough times. There was rarely a place that we could go where someone wouldn’t stop us to say hi to her! She has been a cashier at Stop and Shop in Bellingham, Mass for the last 7 years and worked for CVS for 22 years before that.   She loves customer service and is devastated that she is no longer able to work! We are especially upset that she will not be able to enjoy the retirement she so deserves.
