One of my cats, Gloria (4yo), is in need of non-basic care that I cannot afford. She has a condition called eyelid agenesis where her eyelids never formed properly at birth. This has left her with jagged eyelids without a solid line to keep the fur out of her eyes. The fur is constantly poking into her eyes, scratching the corneas, and causing irritation. She is constantly squinting her eyes and the third lid is always out. The animal ophthalmologist has a surgery called cryoepilation that can remove and freeze the hair follicles surrounding her eyes so this no longer hurts her and her corneas can start healing. In the meantime I’m applying lubrication to her eyes daily. The surgery is $4500 and I’ve applied to grants who are willing to help me with $700. I’m asking for help to get some of the rest covered to help improve my girl’s quality of life.
