This is a charity project for VisualAIDS, a small but mighty charity - who have provided a modest commission, we need to raise extra funds in order to make the film.
This film is dedicated to RODGER DUNKLEY.
ENCOUNTERS is a sexual, erotic and joyous experimental short film.
ENCOUNTERS is a rarely seen celebration of Black and Brown people on screen.
ENCOUNTERS exists to help fight the stigma of HIV and AIDS.
ENCOUNTERS is commissioned by the pioneering New York based organisation VisualAIDS and written and directed by Afro-Queer artist and advocate Topher Campbell.
Because of the enduring stigma against people living with HIV and AIDS, Topher has decided to go public about his HIV status for the first time. We want to make ENCOUNTERS in August 2021 and with your help we can.
ENCOUNTERS is scheduled to receive its World Premier on December 1st 2021, World AIDS Day.
Your meaningful donation will allow us to:
- pay our Black/Brown/LGBTQIA+ cast and crew
- pay for trainees
- pay for an Intimacy Co-ordinator, to ensure that the sexual and erotic content in the film is tackled properly
- pay for catering on set
- help secure our locations - including the iconic LGBTQ+ activist neighbourhood of Brixton, London
