Ahoy amazing reader, thank you for being here.
This is Fabri, Juli (flaco), Majita and Hugo. Following Our Nature.
We bought a small sailboat called Coqui and we want to turn it into a platform to support conservation projects, document marine life, and help the people working to protect our seas.
We love the sea.
We love animals and people.
We love our Nature.
And we want to protect it.
This purpose connected us.
It brought us together in Australian waters to experience the beauty of our world and try to help it.
Over the last years, we’ve been moving around the world, taking part in many different conservation efforts such as:
- Working alongside scientists and researchers.
- Crewing on research and conservation vessels.
- Assisting whale and dolphin research.
- Street fundraising for reforestation.
- Workshops.
- Beach cleanups.
- Filmmaking
- Ethical wildlife tours
Collaborating from big organizations and universities to small organizations and local artists.
Sometimes organized.
Sometimes spontaneous.
Always real.
We’ve learned that there is no perfect way to help.
There is only doing what you can, where you are.
Through conservation actions, photography, filmmaking, and shared stories, we want to create awareness, education, and real connection with nature - being out there, cleaning up, observing, learning, and sharing.
We found a way to be even closer to the ocean, we bought a small sailboat called Coqui! She's a steel boat from 1975, full of stories of her own and hopefully many more to come.
Coqui is a tool to:
- Support conservation and research projects
- Document marine life responsibly
- Help with actions like ghost-net removals
- Create awareness for local and international communities
- Generate stories that help people feel the ocean, not just look at it
She’s also a learning space.
Because there is so much to learn from the ocean.
Learning to fix things.
(Its an oldie, and needs a lot of love)
Learning how to do all of this
We want to help our environment and the people working on it.
Learning patience and humility
We know what we can bring to projects, we have done it before but also we know that everything takes time.
HOW YOUR SUPPORT HELPS
Your support goes directly into keeping this project alive and functional:
- Marina fees
- Boat repairs to keep Coqui safe
- Research and documentation equipment
- Diving equipment for possible ghost-net removals
- Plumbing and electrical improvements
- Dinghy for short missions and logistics
- Carpentry improvements
We are happy to show all expenses and budget breakdowns if required.
Not everything has to be money.
We also accept useful donations such as:
- Binoculars for spotting animals
- Camera gear for photo ID and documentation
- Marine equipment
- Whatever comes to your mind that could contribute to the project
All funds raised will be used solely to support and run this project.
It's a project based on kindness, soundness and pure intentions.
We just want to keep the boat, the work, and the stories moving us through the seas, helping however we can.
May the ocean be with you all
We love you!
Spottedfabri,
Julian, Encouters again and again
