Help my husband beat cancer
Donation protected
After a 2 year struggle with Myasenthia Gravis Joseph “Rob” Carter, underwent open-heart surgery to remove a football sized tumor from his chest along with the Thymus gland. We thought that was the end and he would recover fully; until July of this year when we heard the word cancer. It felt like a truck had hit us, we didn’t expect to hear Cancer. There are 3 tumors located near his heart and lungs, we worry of more unseen tumors at this time. We are hopeful that he will be able to have surgery in the next 6 months following 3-5 courses of Multidisciplinary Chemotherapy. He still has 1-2 months of chemotherapy left and recovery from the treatment. Our hope is to have him assessed in Ohio and eventually have the surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. We already have piles of medical bills and Rob will lose his Health coverage on December 31st of this year. We worry that we will not be able to send him to Cleveland for the Surgery.
For those of you that have had the pleasure to get to know Rob over the years you know that he is one of a kind. He has a great sense of humor and an incredible spirit. Rob needs a great deal of support to get him through this, which is difficult for him to ask “for help”. So, I am asking, my family needs all the help that we can get our 4 year old son deserves to grow up with a daddy.
This disease has broken our wallets, but not our spirit. With good treatment he has an excellent chance to beat this cancer, so any donation is greatly appreciated. I will provide updates as you go through this journey with us.
“Thank you for all the help and support.”
