With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved abuelita, Sonia Medina Altamirano, who left us at the age of 89. She was the strong foundation of our family. A woman full of wisdom, warmth, and quiet strength.

Abuelita is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was always creating something with her hands. From beautiful handmade crafts to fresh homemade bread that filled the house with comfort. Every stitch, every recipe, every story she told was her way of giving love.

Born and raised in Nicaragua, she lived a life of sacrifice and determination. She worked tirelessly to support her family through the harshest times, and it’s because of her strength and perseverance that our family is where we are today. She had a deep love for plants and nature always seeing beauty in the simple things. Her stories about life in the mountains, the struggles she overcame, and the lessons she carried stayed with us and shaped who we are.

We are now facing the unexpected financial burden of her funeral and burial. We want to honor her with the dignity and peace she truly deserves , a final farewell to match the love and legacy she gave to us all.

Con mucho dolor, compartimos que nuestra querida abuelita, Sonia Medina Altamirano falleció a los 89 años. Fue el pilar de nuestra familia. Una mujer llena de sabiduría, ternura y una fuerza silenciosa que nos marcó para siempre.

La recuerdan con profundo amor sus dos hijas, cuatro nietos y cuatro bisnietos. Siempre estaba haciendo algo con sus manos, desde hermosas manualidades hechas a mano hasta pan casero que llenaba la casa de calor y cariño. Cada puntada, cada receta, cada historia era su forma de dar amor.

Nació y creció en Nicaragua, donde enfrentó una vida llena de sacrificios y dificultades. Trabajó incansablemente para sacar adelante a su familia, y gracias a su esfuerzo y perseverancia, hoy estamos donde estamos. Amaba las plantas y encontraba belleza en lo más sencillo. Siempre compartía historias de su vida en el campo y los duros momentos que enfrentó con coraje.

Ahora, nuestra familia enfrenta los gastos inesperados de su funeral y entierro. Queremos darle una despedida digna, como merece una mujer que dio tanto y pidió tan poco.
