In Memory of Gumaro Martinez
Donation protected
On Friday July 10, 2020 at 6:17 pm (CST) our beloved father, Gumaro Martinez Quiroz, went to be with our Lord after a two-week battle with Covid19.
Dad was 75 years young.
Our family has lost our patriarch, our paternal role-model, and our hero.
Many of you knew my father, Don Gumaro, as kind, warm, affectionate, humble, always cheerful, and silly as silly can be! He was an avid foodie, History junkie, and yes....he also loved cats! Most importantly, he was a family man. Dad was so in love with our mother and was ever so protective of his flock. This December would have been my parents' 50th anniversary.
In the community he was known as 'Hermano (Brother) Gumaro'. Our dad was a Christian spiritual pillar of our home and of the Rio Grande Valley, Texas. He touched the lives and hearts of many strangers that soon became family in God.
His legacy will continue through his wife, children, grandchildren, and spiritual children.
Your blessings will be going to our mother and will help cover Dad's end-of-life expenses and ensure my mother's stability during these trying times and uncertain future. As our family begins to cope with this enormous loss, our primary goal is our mother's health and wellbeing.
Gumaro Martinez. Father, Husband, Brother, Leader and Friend....there are no words to describe the void that you left, but we are most certain that you're looking after us all, as you always have, but now from Heaven.
"Ànimo!" "Cheer up!"
That's what he would tell us.
"Ànimo!"
"Dios es nuestro amparo y fortaleza,
nuestro pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones.
Por tanto, no temeremos, aunque la tierra sea removida,
y se traspasen los montes al corazón del mar;
aunque bramen y se turben sus aguas,
y tiemblen los montes a causa de su braveza."
- Salmo 46:1-3:

Papi, te amamos!
