ABOUT THIS CAMPAIGN
This is something we never thought we would be doing – asking for help. On behalf of our family, we are trying to raise funds to make some memories. My beautiful wife Amanda has been through a lot. In 2012 she went through Breast Cancer and after the whirlwind of treatments, surgeries and a double mastectomy she was given the all clear. I am amazed to this day at how strong she was and I am very proud of how she handled it. We moved from Adelaide to Darwin to try to better ourselves and to make the most of life. Now move forward to December 2015 and after months of trying to resolve some hip pain, she was given the diagnosis was that she had Stage 4 Bone Cancer as a secondary form of Breast Cancer. Basically the cancer was back and angry.

The outlook is that she has a 20% chance of surviving 2 years and a 5% chance of reaching 5 years. She receives weekly chemotherapy and radiation. We are content going through this journey although we do not like the situation but at the end of the day – it is what it is. With that in mind we have sorted a bucket list of items to do whilst we are together as a family. Most of this involves travel to places we have always wanted to take the kids. Places like the snow, the Gold Coast and a road trip through regional Victoria travelling the Great Ocean Road and towns like Ballarat. We also want to give them the chance to attend our wedding so we are aiming to renew our wedding vows next year.

we are struggling to raise the extra funds needed to achieve our memories and as the sole provider to the family, I feel like we have wasted 3 months out of 24 and I feel that I am running out of time. Amanda is doing what she can to fight the cancer and give us extra time, but I cannot rest on this as who knows how it affect her tomorrow.

So I am hoping that you can find a place in your heart to help us. We all know that there are people far worse off than us in this world but we also need to do what we can to create some memories for our children. Their time with their mother is being cut short and we need to try to give them 40+ years of memories in a short period of time. Any support of our situation is hugely appreciated and it will give us a chance to cherish the time we all have.

If we have learnt anything through this it is that you need to love the people you are with and make the most of the time you have. Do not wait till tomorrow as it may never come.
