On Saturday, April 23, 2022, our friend and co-workers granddaughter accidentally fell into a charcoal grill while playing in the yard with her sisters. Emry's arm, stomach, back and thigh sustained 2nd and 3rd-degree burns that will require skin grafts. She is currently in the pediatric burn unit at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. The skin graft procedure is scheduled for Friday, and it is not currently known how long she will be required to stay in the hospital after surgery.

Emry has three sisters at home, and her mother, Morgan, is regularly making the 3 hour round trip drive to the hospital. Morgan will be required to miss significant work to care for Emry over the next several months.
