Help Nene Mpundu Overcome Sickle Cell Anaemia with Urgent Surgery and Recovery Support
My name is Katherine Katilungu, and I am reaching out to you on behalf of my dear family friend, Nene Mpundu. Nene has been courageously battling Sickle Cell Anaemia since childhood, and now she is facing an urgent medical crisis that requires your help.
Eleven months ago, Nene suffered a painful leg injury at work, which has left her in excruciating pain. After numerous medical consultations, it has been determined that she needs immediate surgery on her leg to prevent further complications. Unfortunately, this operation costs beyond her means, and she urgently needs our support
Sickle cell has stolen so much from her ability to work full-time, her independence, and now her mobility. Without this surgery, her mobility will get worse and walking will be very painful and she might eventually need to use a wheelchair.
How Your Donation Can Help:
1. Leg Surgery: £8,300
Nene requires surgery to repair the damage to her leg, which has been causing her intense pain. This surgery is critical for her recovery and to improve her quality of life.
2. Hospital Costs: £1000
This will cover essential hospital expenses, including the cost of a hospital bed, medications, syringes, and other medical supplies required for her surgery and recovery.
3. Transport: £200
Nene lives in Ndola, Zambia and will need transportation to and from Lusaka for the surgery. This cost will cover bus fare or private transport to ensure she can reach the hospital safely.
4. Physiotherapy: £2,000
After surgery, Nene will need intensive physiotherapy for approximately six weeks to regain full mobility and strength in her leg. This therapy is essential for her long-term recovery and to help her get back to her daily life.
Total Fundraising Goal: £11,500
Your generous contribution will go directly to Nene to help her cover these essential medical and living costs. All funds raised will be transferred directly to her so she can manage them personally and make the necessary arrangements for her surgery and recovery.
Why Your Support Matters:
Nene is an incredible woman who has shown immense strength in adversity, battling Sickle Cell Anaemia her entire life. You can help her receive the treatment and care she needs with your donation. No amount is too small—every little bit counts and your kindness can make a profound impact on her journey to recovery.
I’m not asking for a miracle—just a chance. **
