The Backstory

My name is Helene. My colleague Kamala and I were talking the other day. Kamala and I have known each other for quite some time as she is a committed ERA Warrior. One thing leads to another as things often do. Well, she made this documentary and Leesha Gooseberry is featured. And what a story Leesha tells. To cut to the chase. Leesha has fallen on some bad times. This breaks Kamala's heart. As it does mine. We have both met some amazing women. And Leesha is one of these women. So we got to talking about how we could help our sisters in the movement. And well here you go... Can you join us on The Gooseberry Team to empower Leesha?

 

The Situation

Currently, Leesha moved back to New Orleans, she works at a local medical facility in housekeeping and fell seriously ill for many months and is way behind in her rent. She has received some assistance but not enough to catch up.

 

The Dream

So a small group of us Kamala Lopez, Sharon J Hill and me, all decided that Leesha can not be left behind nor the large group of women that she represents. So each of us has committed money and resources to "give up hand up, not a hand out". 

Leesa wants to pay current her landlord in New Orleans, then move to California, find a nice place to live, work at a women's shelter, and finish her book. She has a dream to help others in return.

 

This small amount should get her to Los Angles. She'll need more help. And we'll keep you informed of the progress
