Growing up, I was always a quiet kid, often left out of groups and searching for a strong community where I could both give and receive support. My own struggles to find belonging and professional opportunities inspired me to create something meaningful, not just for myself, but for others who felt the same way. That’s why I founded Ladies of Vision and Empowerment (L.O.V.E.), a not-for-profit, registered student organization at Georgia State University dedicated to uplifting and empowering women in every aspect of their lives. L.O.V.E. is built on the belief that everyone deserves a safe space to come as they are, no matter their struggles, and to find encouragement to become the best version of themselves. We actively reach out to those who are often quiet, shy, or left out, making sure they know there’s a place for them to belong and grow.

Now, as I run for Miss Old Gold and Black, I see an opportunity to expand this mission even further. This pageant is not just about a title. It is a platform to shine a light on the challenges young women face in finding community and a sense of belonging, especially in large spaces like college. If I am chosen as Miss Old Gold and Black, I will devote my time and energy to using this larger platform to promote the message that everyone deserves a seat at the table. My campaign centers on building spaces of belonging and empowerment, and fundraising for this pageant allows me to demonstrate that mission in action by bringing people together to support a shared purpose. The funds raised will support my campaign, the pageant’s scholarship and programming, and most importantly, help strengthen the very community my platform is built to serve.
