Undergraduate students from the University of the Incarnate Word are preparing for a mission trip to Santa Apollonia, Guatemala, a community facing severe economic hardship, limited access to health care, clean water, and education. The residents of Santa Apollonia are extremely impoverished, and these students are eager to use their expertise from their degree programs to empower local community members through education and service. This initiative began with just three students and has now grown to ten, reflecting the passion and commitment of the group.
This mission trip is an opportunity for undergraduate students to design and implement occupation-specific programs that address the unique needs of Santa Apollonia. The funds raised will help cover travel costs, supplies for their initiatives, and materials needed to make a meaningful impact. By participating in this trip, students will gain invaluable, first-hand experience working with underserved populations—skills they will bring back to the United States to serve communities here as well.
Your support can make a real difference. Please consider donating, sharing this fundraiser, or offering words of encouragement to the students as they embark on this journey. Together, we can help empower the people of Santa Apollonia and inspire the next generation of compassionate leaders.
