Di Andre Lewis here, author, artist, and aspiring advocate. We’re raising funds to launch our Non-Profit Organization “Junior Justice League”—a movement where we roll into minority schools, get cops and lawyers in front of kids, and teach them their rights. So next time they see blue lights… they’re not scared. They’re smart.
Imagine a future where every kid gets a shot at something better. It’s not just code or books, it’s giving kids confidence. Taking away fear. This program doesn't just teach skills, it sparks hope, builds futures, and changes lives. That’s the difference we're making—real lasting impact.
We’re aiming to hit twenty-five minority schools in Houston this year, train at least fifteen hundred kids on their rights—give them that armor. I want every one of those kids to feel like they can walk up to an officer without that knot in their stomach. And long-term? We wanna flip the script: no more kids running, no more headlines… just a whole new generation that’s street-smart and legally sharp.
- Black youth are more than 5X as likely to be incarcerated as white youth.
- Black kids make up about 15% of the youth population, but over 40% of those in juvenile facilities.
- In police shootings of juveniles from 2015 to 2020, over 50% of victims were Black.
- Black men face disproportionately higher risks in police encounters compared to white peers.
- BUT—Programs teaching rights and safe interactions can build trust and reduce escalations. Junior Justice League is here to make that happen.
So please help us create heroes and change the numbers.
