Dear friends, family, and compassionate individuals,

We come before you today to share the deeply moving story of Andro and Eiane Tiongco, a couple whose journey to be together spanned 8 long years until Andro's immigration from the Philippines to Canada in October. Andro and Eiane work very hard in their respective jobs, with Eiane serving as a PSW in training at Sunnybrook Hospital, while Andro fulfills the role of a dedicated hospitality attendant at Shangri La Hotel. Their path has been filled with both moments of joy and tremendous challenges, and now they find themselves in a position where their need for support is paramount. It is with heavy hearts that we must convey the tragic events that unfolded in their lives.

Eiane, expecting twins this July, experienced a devastating emergency on May 17th when she went into premature labor. Despite every effort made to save their precious sons, Garvis and Gavin, the lack of oxygen during birth resulted in severe hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, leaving the newborns battling for survival. The extent of the brain damage has left little hope for the babies to have a fighting chance, and they have remained in the hospital for the past few weeks, surrounded by uncertainty and despair.

To make this story even more tragic, Eiane herself fought for her health while being admitted to the hospital due to serious complications. She was only discharged on June 2nd. No mother should be separated from her children, and to make things worse, when meeting her children for the first time, she was told to plan for their end-of-life care.

The weight of this devastating situation is exacerbated by the profound financial strain Andro and Eiane are currently facing. Both parents are unable to work, leaving them without any income, and the impending costs associated with the funerals of their beloved sons loom heavily over their heads. They will also require grief support and counseling to help them navigate through their immense loss. It is crucial that they have the time and space to grieve without the added burden of worrying about income to pay their bills. In this time of distress, they need our support more than ever.

Support During Grief:

As if the financial concerns weren't enough, Andro and Eiane also find themselves in need of emotional support during this time of grief. Their parents had planned to travel from the Philippines in June to lend a helping hand and provide comfort during this difficult period. However, the unforeseen circumstances have prevented them from receiving the much-needed assistance and love from their parents.
