Dear Friends, Supporters, and Advocates of Holistic Health,

Meet Christoph Lenz, a resilient individual who has been courageously battling Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for the past 30 years. Despite the challenges, Chris has defied medical expectations and continues to seek innovative therapies to enhance his quality of life. Now, he aims to bring a promising treatment—apitherapy—to South Africa, not just for himself but for countless others who could benefit. We invite you to join us in this transformative journey.

Chris's Journey with MS:

Three decades ago, Chris was diagnosed with MS, a chronic condition affecting the central nervous system. Eighteen years ago, doctors advised him to prepare for life in a wheelchair. However, Chris's determination led him down a different path. Embracing a paleo-based diet, relocating to the pristine environment of Britannia Bay to avoid pollutants, and incorporating cold water swimming into his routine, Chris has remarkably remained medication-free for over 20 years. Notably, cold water exposure has provided temporary relief from his disabilities, allowing him brief periods of near-normal movement.

Exploring Apitherapy:

In his relentless pursuit of wellness, Chris has turned to apitherapy—the medicinal use of bee products, including bee venom, pollen, propolis, bee bread, and royal jelly. Preliminary studies have explored bee venom's potential in modulating immune responses and its anti-inflammatory properties. For instance, a study investigated the effect of honey bee venom on experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, a model for MS, and found a significant reduction in inflammatory cells in the brain following bee venom treatment . Another study explored the role of apitherapy in MS treatment, noting some improvements in clinical symptoms, though it emphasized that apitherapy is not a cure . While these findings are preliminary and further research is necessary, they offer a foundation for exploring apitherapy's potential benefits.

Collaboration with Dr. Stefan Stangaciu:

Recognising the need for expert guidance, Chris reached out to Dr. Stefan Stangaciu, President of the International Federation of Apitherapy. Dr. Stefan, renowned for his success in treating MS patients in Romania, has graciously agreed to collaborate with Chris. Their shared vision extends beyond personal treatment; they aim to introduce and popularize apitherapy in South Africa, a country currently lacking certified practitioners and medicinal bee products.

Our Mission:

To turn this vision into reality, we plan to bring Dr. Stefan to South Africa for a series of conferences and workshops across Johannesburg/ Pretoria, Nelspruit, Durban, and Cape Town. These events will educate beekeepers, medical practitioners, and the general public about the benefits and applications of apitherapy. Additionally, Dr. Stefan will oversee Chris's treatment, meticulously documenting the process to create a documentary that could inspire and inform many others.

Financial Breakdown:

To achieve our mission of introducing apitherapy to South Africa and supporting Chris's treatment, we aim to raise €25,000. Below is a detailed breakdown of the estimated expenses:

International Travel:
Flight from Bucharest to Johannesburg: Based on current estimates, a round-trip flight from Bucharest to Johannesburg is approximately €1,627.99.

Domestic Travel:
Flights within South Africa: Estimated at €455.00, covering travel between Johannesburg., Nelspruit, Durban and Cape town

Accommodation:
Lodging for Dr. Stefan: Approximately €1,820.00 for the duration of his stay.

Conference Expenses:
Venue Rentals and Logistics: Estimated at €4,550.00 for organising events in four locations.

Treatment and Documentation:
Chris's Apitherapy Treatment and Documentary Production: Approximately €5,197.01.

Total Estimated Expenses: €13,650.00

Additional Budget Considerations:

To ensure the success and sustainability of this initiative, we propose the following allocations:

Grand Total: €25,000.00
