Hi, Everyone! My name is Nya Pointer, and I’m honored to be a contestant in the Miss Delta Nu Scholarship Pageant hosted by the Delta Nu Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated at The University of Memphis.
This pageant is more than a crown. It represents belief, opportunity, and growth. It’s a chance for me to continue pursuing my education while standing for leadership, service, and academic excellence. My Community Service Initiative focuses on looking within to build confidence, strength, and self-belief.
As a first-generation college student, I am majoring in Health Studies with a concentration in Healthcare Leadership. I am passionate about uplifting others who have ever looked in the mirror and felt that they weren’t pretty enough, confident enough, or worthy enough. I want to be a reminder that beauty isn’t about perfection; it’s about resilience, purpose, and having the courage to show up even when doubt is loud.
As part of the pageant requirements, each contestant must raise a minimum of $400 in fundraising to support scholarship initiatives and fraternity programming. Any amount raised beyond this goal helps strengthen these efforts and allows contestants to earn additional points toward the scholarship. My personal goal is $900 for the fee and help.
Any donation, big or small, means so much. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much. Thank you for supporting my journey, believing in my purpose, and reminding other women and me that we are more than enough.
With gratitude,
Nya pointer
