Empowering children in Muggii, Ethiopia through education

Hello- my name is Kara Snyder and I am joining my dear friend Naol, from Ethiopia, in a campaign to help needy children in his hometown of Muggii. Below I attached his words as well.

Naol and I met in 2017 when I got to visit a sponsored child of mine at the time who lives in Ethiopia. Since then- we have continued our friendship and have become best friends. I got to visit him again last fall and it was such an incredible experience as I got to have a glimpse into understanding life in Ethiopia. My heart has been heavy with the great need there and I see this as one opportunity to make a difference and bring hope!

Helping the children of Muggii has been our dream for many years. So when my friend reached out earlier this week and presented his idea and asked for my help, I didn’t hesitate to say yes! Each packet of books costs 600 Birr- which is just $4.27 in the US! That’s less than a fancy coffee and will ensure that a child gets a much needed hand up in education! I have already asked friends and family to consider being part of this campaign but I felt led to create a way for others to be involved as well. Our dream is that every child in need would receive books this year and be able to not only have a hand up in their education, but hope for a brighter tomorrow. ‎I was born and raised in Muggii and it's a place that holds a special place in my heart. Today, I'm reaching out with an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students back in my hometown of Muggii, Anfilloo Woreda, Kellem Wollega.

‎We're starting a campaign to provide exercise books for students who can't afford them for the upcoming academic year. A simple exercise book can be the difference between a student being able to participate in class and falling behind. Let's come together and give these kids the tools they need to succeed in their education.
