Empower Young Minds: Donate for Music Instruments

There are truly not enough words to describe what music does for students. It is a safe place for limitless expression and creativity. Music may be the only class where students get to see themselves be successful, and is scientifically proven to help them be successful in core subjects. Music is where my small friends get to work on fine motor skills, locomotor movement, spatial awareness and the connections between both sides of the brain. My class is an opportunity for students to learn how to perform or speak in front of a crowd confidently. It is where teamwork doesn't just mean those who are good at music can shine, but where EVERYONE has something to give and is never "on the bench". Elementary music is the place that students find their passion for choir or band, and encourages them to pursue those disciplines beyond fifth grade. Some times music is just the magical fun that every child needs in their day. After all, every child is born with music already inside them.
As an elementary music teacher, I have the distinct privilege of being the one to foster all of these things in every student that is in our school, for every year I get to have them. However, due to a lack of funding for just my content area, it is not as accessible as it should be. This has been disheartening considering the fact that accessibility for music is as simple as having a classroom set of instruments. So far if something is needed for my classroom, to guarantee that I will receive it I have had to purchase materials myself. Alongside this our class sizes have been growing exponentially.
One of the main reasons that we are able to have the things that we do now is from others graciously donating to my classroom. I previously did an Amazon wish list because it was relatively easy to find what I needed, but I can't find everything at the quality or quantity that I need from there. I need the ability to make purchases from reputable music companies that have built these materials with my class in mind.
If you are willing to support my classroom by donating, it would be a tremendous help and would open so many doors for my music friends. My main focus for this fund is instruments, and having enough so that music is consistently accessible for all students. Purchasing a class set of instruments isn't like purchasing pencils or notebooks for a core classroom. It is an investment that lasts generations, kindergarten all the way through fifth grade.
I will make sure that my friends and I will always have fun learning, moving, singing, dancing and creating. We are currently just in need of more materials to help make that magic happen.
