Hi, I’m Star Brazil, the founder of the Proud Black Girl Conference happening July 11-13, 2025. I created this conference because I know firsthand the power of representation, mentorship, and access to opportunities. As a Black woman, I’ve seen how young Black women are often overlooked, expected to navigate the world without the same support systems and resources that others receive. I believe in changing that narrative. The Proud Black Girl Conference is my way of ensuring that young women ages 17-21 have a space where they are affirmed, inspired, and equipped with the tools they need to step boldly into their futures..
Why This Matters
Young Black women in this age group are often overlooked in mainstream conversations about leadership, career development, and personal growth. They are expected to navigate societal challenges, racism, sexism, economic disparities—without the same level of investment, mentorship, or resources that others receive. PBG is here to change that.
At a critical time in their lives, when they are transitioning into adulthood, making career choices, and defining their identities, they deserve spaces that affirm them, pour into them, and equip them for success. This conference is designed to do just that by connecting them with role models, tools, and a powerful community that truly sees them.
Why We Need Your Support
PBG is a free conference because we believe every young woman deserves access to tools that will shape her future, regardless of financial circumstances. However, to make this event possible, we need funding to cover:
- Venue costs to provide an uplifting and welcoming atmosphere
- Workshop materials & panel discussions featuring inspiring speakers and industry leaders
- Swag bags filled with journals, T-shirts, and tumblers to keep attendees motivated
- Food & refreshments so participants can fully engage without worry
