Hi all! We are a group of Cal Poly SLO Architectural Engineering students and for our senior project we are heading to Same, Tanzania to work on a few construction projects for local schools.

When doing research about education in Tanzania we learned that is it typical for girls of many ages to miss a few days of school every month due to the lack of sanitary products available. When researching this further we found the NGO, Days for Girls, who works to increase access to menstrual care and education by sending volunteers and creating sustainable solutions that end stigmas and limitations for women and girls who menstruate.

Days for Girls has created a kit that includes a reusable pad, underwear, cleaning products, and a carrying pouch to help allow girls everywhere to feel comfortable and continue daily life all throughout the month. Each kit costs $15 and our goal as a group is to provide 200 kits to the girls attending the school we are working with. Every contribution, big or small, makes a real impact.
