Empower Women Over 40 in Musical Theater

My name is Katya Stanislavskaya. I am an award-winning musical theater composer, lyricist, music director, and educator. As both a writer and a music director, I am encountering a shortage of musical theater repertoire that centers women over 40. Not sidekicks, not just devoted mothers or wives, but women who are ambitious, sexual, hilarious, flawed humans. For the last few years, I've been focusing on creating songs for such characters, to be performed by female-identifying actors "of a certain age." I received an institutional recording grant that provides free recording facilities and an engineer in mid-January 2025. I am raising money to pay actors and musicians in order to record an EP of 6-8 of these songs, and to distribute them across streaming platforms.
