Help Teresa Launch CalebXCharge — Charging Stations for Wheelchair Users.
My sister Teresa Valenzuela has used a power wheelchair for 33 years.
In all that time, she has never once been able to charge her wheelchair in public. Not at a park. Not at a hospital. Not at a transit stop. Nowhere. When her battery runs low, her options are go home or hope someone helps her. That's the reality for 4 million Americans who depend on powered wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
Teresa decided to fix it.
She founded Well-Able Platforms LLC right here in San Diego and developed CalebXCharge — the first intelligent, networked public charging infrastructure designed specifically for power wheelchair and mobility scooter users. Think of it like a Tesla Supercharger, but built for the people our cities have forgotten.
In August 2025 she gave a TEDx talk about this vision. This September she has been selected to speak at Autodesk University 2026 in Las Vegas — one of the world's leading smart city and design conferences. She has a federal grant application in progress with the U.S. Department of Transportation, due July 7. She has a product design, a business plan, and the drive of someone who has waited 33 years for someone to solve this problem — and finally decided that someone would be her.
What she needs right now is help covering the legal and startup costs to protect everything she has built:
— California business franchise tax: $800
— Two provisional patent applications (hardware + software): $640
— Two trademark filings to protect the CalebXCharge name: $500
— Attorney review fees: $300
— Website and business tool renewals: $300
— Incidental startup costs: $460
Total goal: $10,000
Every dollar goes directly to protecting Teresa's intellectual property and keeping Well-Able Platforms operational while she finishes her federal grant application.
I am her sister Suzanne, and I am running this campaign because I have watched Teresa fight for independence her entire life — for herself and for every wheelchair user who deserves to move through this world without fear of being stranded.
Please share this campaign even if you cannot give. The more people who see Teresa's story, the closer she gets to putting a CalebXCharge station on every block that needs one.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
