Help Veronica Become a Pilot – A Latina’s Dream Takes Flight

Hi, my name is Veronica, I’m 29 years old, and I’m originally from Guatemala—now living in Seattle, Washington. Ever since I was young, I’ve been captivated by aviation. The thought of flying an aircraft seemed magical… and impossible.
As a Latina woman, I didn’t grow up seeing people who looked like me in the cockpit. I doubted whether I could ever make it in this field. But over time, I started doing the research, joining aviation communities, and surrounding myself with powerful, uplifting women who reminded me: yes, you can.
And now, I’m finally going for it.
My Plan
I’m currently working toward my GED equivalency here in Seattle so I can apply to Green River College, where I plan to pursue an Associate Degree in Aviation Technology. This will give me the foundational knowledge and credentials to move forward with flight training.
After that, I’ll begin my flight training at Reiner Flight Academy, working toward my Commercial Pilot License. My dream is to one day fly professionally, represent women and Latinas in aviation, and encourage others to chase dreams that seem out of reach.
Why I Need Help
Like many aspiring pilots, I’ve quickly realized how expensive this journey is. Tuition, flight hours, exams, supplies—it all adds up.
The total cost of my education and training is approximately:

Green River College (2 years tuition): $10,000
Reiner Flight Academy (flight training): $28,000
Books, gear, exams, and other expenses: $10,000
Total Goal: $48,000
While there are scholarships, most of them require that I already be enrolled in college and show strong academic performance. But before I can even apply, I need to prove that I can financially commit to the program. That’s why I’m asking for your help.
This fundraiser is the first door I need to open to unlock everything that comes next.

Hola, me llamo Veronica, tengo 29 años y soy originaria de Guatemala. Actualmente vivo en Seattle, Washington, y desde que era niña he soñado con convertirme en piloto. Volar siempre me ha parecido algo mágico… pero también inalcanzable.
Como mujer latina, crecí sin ver a personas como yo en la cabina de un avión. Por mucho tiempo dudé si realmente podría lograrlo. Pero investigando, conectando con comunidades de aviación y rodeándome de mujeres poderosas que me inspiraron, me di cuenta de algo importante: sí puedo.
Y ahora, estoy lista para hacerlo realidad.
Mi Plan
Actualmente estoy trabajando para obtener mi equivalente al GED (el certificado de estudios secundarios en EE. UU.) aquí en Seattle, para poder aplicar a Green River College, donde quiero estudiar un Grado Asociado en Tecnología de Aviación. Este programa me dará la base académica y técnica para iniciar mi carrera como piloto.
Después, planeo continuar mi formación de vuelo en Reiner Flight Academy y obtener mi Licencia de Piloto Comercial. Mi sueño es volar profesionalmente, representar a las mujeres y a la comunidad latina en la aviación, y motivar a otras personas a que crean en sí mismas.
Por Qué Necesito Tu Apoyo
Como muchos futuros pilotos, he descubierto que este camino es costoso. La matrícula, las horas de vuelo, los exámenes, el equipo… todo suma.
