Empower Triza: Support Her High School Education

Dear Friends and Family,

Please meet my great-niece, Triza. A kind, hardworking, and resilient 13-year-old girl from my hometown in rural Kenya. Triza is looking to raise money to pay for her high school education as the government only covers half of the cost. Her single mom is a farmer and struggling to make ends meet. Due to virtually no job availability, low pay, and other hardships, these financial barriers are common in the community and sadly, roughly 50% of children become high school dropouts because of it.

BUT we're trying to change that.

Studies have shown that when girls and women are educated, the communities that they live in thrive. This cause is especially important to me as I believe in the power of education and the impact it can make in impoverished communities. Supporting Triza will not only change her life but it will also affect the community around her, breaking the cycle of poverty one child at a time; and hopefully creating bigger and better opportunities for others.

Despite the challenges around her, Triza is enthusiastic about learning and doing well in all of her (12!) classes—she especially loves learning about agriculture and nutrition and hopes to give back to her community one day by helping to create more jobs.

Your contribution will directly cover Triza’s four years of high school and will be personally and safely managed by me.
