Hi everyone,

As many of you know, our son Torr is a joyful, high-energy ball of sunshine. Raising him has been such a beautiful journey — his spirit is contagious, and he brings so much life to everyone around him.

This past year brought some challenges. Torr was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, which has made focus, self-control, and social skills more difficult for him. Even with those hurdles, he worked so hard and — with lots of support — he successfully graduated kindergarten and is now officially a 1st grader! We are so proud of him!

To help Torr continue building confidence, focus, and healthy routines, we are hoping to enroll him in the afterschool program at Beta Academy — a martial arts school that offers Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and MMA. The coaches there are amazing with him, and the structure of martial arts is a perfect match to help Torr thrive both inside and outside of the classroom. We applied for a DC scholarship, but due to high demand, Torr was not selected. That’s why we’re reaching out to our village for support.
