Empower Todd Wells: Fund His Teaching Dream

Aloha! My name is Todd Wells. I teach 6th grade as an emergency hire for the Hawai’i department of education. After my first year of teaching, I realized that I love what I do. I decided to go back to school to receive my teaching license. However, because I have already received a bachelors degree, I cannot receive any financial aid or assistance of any kind. My tuition fees have to be paid out of pocket and I am struggling to get these funds together. I am a father and a husband who has financial responsibilities which make it even harder for me to pay this tuition. I am a thyroid cancer survivor as well as someone who struggles with tremors and diabetes. Being able to teach has brought me purpose and showed me that I can amount to so much as an educator regardless of my disabilities. Being able to get this teacher’s license will make me a full time licensed teacher.
