I was reviewing the specifics of the program and realized I was mistaken in how much was actually needed. The amount I need is $2,500 not $3,000. I have made the edit below and have changed things on the platform to be more accurate.

Thank you for those that have donated. I really do appreciate it. Will keep this up until about the second week in January as stated in my Facebook post.

Tina Beattie, here, and I am hoping to raise funds so that I can acquire TESOL certification, specifically $2,500. This past summer I was forced to leave my position at ETS as they decided to no longer schedule me for hours scoring the TOEFL test, which was the main work I did with them. From what I heard from my scoring leaders, the company had decided to offshore the vast majority of those rating positions to India. As such, I have been picking up what online tutoring/teaching positions I can, but they are not great jobs nor pay all that well. The main hurdle that I am facing is the lack of an actual teaching credential. I'm not likely to be able to get a state teaching credential due to time, logistics, and money, but I am capable of getting TESOL certification online. My hope is that it will unlock some better positions as it will be a teaching cert, and if nothing else, I can teach ESL/EFL for international companies online. I was looking at the SIT TESOL certification, which is an acknowledged and respected TESOL certification. I made it into the program earlier, but there wasn't enough people in the cohort to run the session. I am hoping that with the new year and possibly opting for the more intensive run of the program I will have better luck.
