Empower the Bartletts: A Fresh Start
Donation protected
Hello, my name is James and my wife is Sissy. We are the Bartletts. We are both recovering addicts who suffered a long, hard, and trying path through our addiction. I, myself, am a 50-year-old male with 34 of those years spent in active addiction, and my wife is 42 with 27 years in active addiction. We have both spent multiple sentences in prison, multiple rehabs, and institutions. Years and years wasted with no hope. But God.
Over the past year and a half, we have turned our lives around. We have struggled one day at a time, like the old saying goes. This past year and a half of clean time has humbled us to learn the consequences of all our previous actions during addiction. We struggle with housing opportunities, jobs, and paying fines and bills. I currently started a new full-time job and am hoping to get my wife there very soon, but, just like any other recovering addict, we can't make ends meet. We aren't asking for someone to bail us out or pay our way, just simply hoping for a little hand up. We are striving daily to move forward in life in the right direction and steadily choosing the next right thing. We don't want a handout, just a little help getting up.
I know you probably see people like us on here every day, but I know that my God knows my needs. I know if we continue to be faithful to Him, let Him guide our steps, and have faith He can move mountains, we can conquer anything. Thank you for taking the time just to read about us, even if that's all you can do. And know God loves each and every one of us, and we all have reasons for walking through life the way we choose to. I hope that this reaches somebody who needs to know it's never too late. God will never leave your side, and the help you need through anything is available; you only have to call His name. God bless you, and we love you.
