My sister Tati recently made the brave choice to leave a marriage that involved domestic violence, choosing peace and safety for herself and her two young daughters. She is now building a new foundation for their future that is filled with stability, health, and independence.
Tati has stepped into a full-time dental assistant apprenticeship, which will open the door to a long-term career and financial security for her family. At the same time, she is navigating full-time motherhood, legal hurdles, and the daily work of keeping her kids happy, active, and thriving. Her 4-year-old is already shining in pre-K and sports, while her 1.5-year-old is just finding her words, discovering how to draw (sometimes on walls) and lighting up every room she enters.
While family and friends have been helping, the biggest obstacle right now is childcare. To complete her apprenticeship and build this new life, Tati needs reliable care for her youngest daughter at least two days per week, which, for such a young child can cost upwards of $1000 per month.
Donations will go directly toward covering childcare, keeping the lights on, and making sure there are healthy meals on the table as she gets on her feet.
Tati is resilient, resourceful, and determined, and has been a phenomenal mother to her children. She’s been juggling the daily routine of single-motherhood, photography gigs, volunteering at her church, and improving her mental and physical health since the separation, all while carrying sole-custody. What she needs now is a little extra support from her community so she can keep moving forward.
By helping Tati, you’re not just supporting her, you’re investing in a safe, stable, and hopeful future for two bright little girls who adore their mom.
