At 69, I never expected a new dream to take hold — but life had other plans.
After retiring from 40+ years in healthcare, while caring for my husband with dementia and my autistic grandson, I found myself at the Devon Horse Show watching a carriage class. Something in me lit up. I could see myself holding the reins, driving a beautiful horse around the Dixon Oval.
With the encouragement of dear friends, I took a leap of faith and booked a driving lesson. Six months later, I’m hooked! I’ve been blessed with a one-eyed wonder horse named Dancer, a harness, and a show carriage — and I’ve set my sights on competing at Devon next spring.
To get there, I need a safe, sturdy carriage for everyday training — a Glinkowski Easy Step, designed for accessibility and balance. The cost is about $9,000, which I can’t manage alone.
It’s never too late to follow a dream — thank you for helping make mine come true.
