We are building a daycare and doggy care center with services that go beyond what’s currently available, designed to make life easier for busy parents and families. Our center will offer:

1) Extended hours to accommodate early drop-offs and late pick-ups.

2) Pick-up and drop-off services to transport children and pets to and from the daycare.

3) Rides to extracurricular activities

These services, all under one roof, are currently unavailable in most areas, and we know they will make a huge difference for busy parents, single parents, and families with unique needs. We also have plans to expand even further, adding more comprehensive services as we grow.

The Details

I’m June Dhar, a dedicated single mother, and I’m reaching out to share an exciting new venture that I believe could make a significant difference in our community. My friend and I, both Indian American women navigating the challenges of an increasingly demanding economy, have come together with a shared vision: to create a brighter future for our families.

As a single mother raising two children, ages eight and five, I’ve recently faced the difficult reality of job loss despite my tireless efforts to juggle a full-time job with a side dog-sitting business. Without family support and having endured a series of hardships—from relocating to San Francisco and navigating marriage, childbirth, and separation during the pandemic—I’ve continually demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness.

My friend, who bravely left an unhappy marriage, is now focused on supporting her two boys. Facing the sudden loss of job security and financial resources has been daunting, underscoring the fears many single mothers face when contemplating significant life changes.

Despite these challenges, we’ve turned our struggles into a catalyst for change. We are thrilled to introduce our innovative venture: a combined daycare and dog care service. Our approach is unique, blending childcare and pet care into one holistic service designed to support families in balancing their work and personal lives.

Having experienced firsthand the difficulties of managing work and family responsibilities, we identified a crucial need for affordable, flexible support. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where both children and pets can thrive, offering services that exceed the typical daycare or pet care options. This isn’t just a business for us; it’s a mission to build the supportive infrastructure we wished we had.

To bring this vision to life, we need your support. With limited financial resources and no family safety net, we’re reaching out to our community for assistance. Your contributions will make a significant impact by helping us:

Secure and Set Up Locations: Find and prepare two safe, welcoming spaces—one for children and one for pets—conveniently located close to each other while meeting all regulatory requirements. We are trying to buy the house for sale next to one of our houses to be able to run the daycare out of one house and dog care out of the second house. Still creating the convenience of one drop off for parents. While reducing the risk and liabilities from housing both under one roof. We need about $235k for down payment. Part of which we have. Part of which we will take a loan and the difference we are trying to raise.

Purchase Essential Supplies: Equip our centers with the necessary food, toys, furniture, and other items to create a comfortable and enriching environment for both children and pets. The initial supplies will cost $3,650. The business set up and licensing fee will cost $1,500.

Cover Licensing and Insurance Fees: Ensure compliance with all regulations and secure full protection for our business.

Marketing and Outreach: Promote our services to local families who will benefit from our unique support.
