Empower Silas's Study Abroad Journey

Silas takes Valencia!

This August, Silas will be jetting off to Valencia, Spain for a full semester abroad! I'm hoping to surprise him with a little extra spending money so he can fully take advantage of this amazing opportunity. Silas has worked incredibly hard his first year at UWEC. While maintaining honors level grades with a major in Computer Science and minor in Spanish, he has become involved in the cyber-security club where he serves as Treasurer and helped lead the team to their first victory at Cyphercon Milwaukee in March. He has been hired for the coveted position of Student Administrator for the Center for High Performance Computing for which he works 4 evenings a week. Aside from federal loans and a 529 contribution from a family member, Silas has fully paid for the remainder of his freshman year with his own savings. He will continue working for HPC remotely over the summer and most likely additional hours with the software department at Attainment Co, a job he has held for four years! We are immeasurably proud of Silas's accomplishments this year and have loved to see him grow in confidence and independence!

Your donation will help Silas fund the extra expenses associated with a semester abroad as well as provide funds for additional excursions and travel to broaden his experience. Any small amount will help! I would love to have donations in place by the 3rd full week of August to ensure all transfers are finalized as well as allow time for me to present the gift before he leaves on August 31.
