Empower Sergio's Future in Intelligence and Security

My name is Sergio Escalier, and I'm a junior at Justice High School. I'm thrilled to share that I've been accepted into NSLC Intelligence and National Security, a prestigious program that aligns with my passions and career aspirations. Often watching C-SPAN and keeping up with the select committee on Intelligence when possible. The program has generously awarded me a $750 scholarship, for which I'm incredibly grateful. However, I still need to cover the remaining $4,000. Unfortunately, my family faces financial constraints that make it challenging for us to afford this amount.

As an active member of my community, I've had the opportunity to engage in various volunteer and leadership roles. I regularly volunteer at the Willston Multicultural Center in Falls Church, Virginia, where I help children improve their reading skills. I'm also part of the Student Leadership Development Program sponsored by the FCPS school board. I am learning how the school board functions and the bureaucracy happening within the school system.

Additionally, I'm enrolled in the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) program, sponsored by the NASA Langley Research Center. This online course has deepened my interest in aerospace engineering.

As an Eagle Scout candidate, I'm committed to scouting and mentoring younger scouts, helping them build confidence and develop essential life skills. I am now a part of the athletic community of Justice, recently joining the Lacrosse team as well.

I'm eager to attend the Intelligence and National Security Program and contribute to the program's vibrant community. I believe that this experience will enrich my academic and personal growth, preparing me for future challenges and opportunities.

I am grateful for the AVID program for giving me the opportunity to succeed. AVID has given me summer programs and time to finish assignments for different classes. I am participating in these programs and summer programs due to the AVID program. I had no idea how many opportunities there would be for every student to chase their academic goals. Participating in AVID is what I needed as a student to continue my education.
