Empower Senior Citizens with Solar Energy

Growing up, my grandparents have been a pillar of love, support and security for me. Their unwavering care has inspired me to give back to those who need it most—people like them, who have dedicated their lives to building and nurturing our families and our communities.

Padmashree AnnaSaheb Beharay Jyeshtha Niwas (www.beharayvrudhashram.org)- an old age home in Pune was established in 1990 to provide support and care for Senior citizens. This organization has been tirelessly working for the betterment of the life of its residents so that they can live their golden years in a safe and stimulating environment. Currently, it serves over 120 residents, some older than a century.

This organization wants to install a 50KW Solar Cogeneration plant on its premises. This project, once operational, will generate enough electricity to make this facility completely energy independent. The money saved in electricity bills will be utilized for improved medical treatment and facilities for the residents.

Beharay Vrudhashram old age home is run by Sangam Sarvajanik Seva Samiti - a registered Public Charitable Trust and not for profit organization.
